Sometimes all it takes is a little motivation and another person’s eye to get your closet working well for you. I had just that situation recently when a client wanted to redo her closet. We didn’t have a lot of time to work together so we tag teamed her closet. She spent a late night pulling everything out of her closet and getting rid of many things. She left me with the clothes that she wanted to go back into her closet and left me alone, in charge. I was able to put things back in a way that she had not thought of before which worked well. Because I didn’t really know how things were originally set up in the closet I didn’t have a preset idea of where things should go. It worked out great. Just the motivation of knowing I was coming in the morning helped her to get through the mundane task of sorting out old clothes.
We were able to go from this:
The client had these shelves in the closet that I thought were the perfect width for sweaters. I might have to figure out how to incorporate these into my own closet.
